Bijeli je efektivno 3 pipsa u zaostatku i zbog toga ne treba ići naprijed sa stražnjim checkerom i otpuštati kontrolu zadnja 3 polja u kući crnog koji ima samo 8 checkera u zoni napada. 13/7 ne ostavlja za sobom blotove u situaciji kada protivnik ima 3:1 snažniju kuću i kada bijelom koji je bez ankore ne odgovara izmjena udaraca. Kao bonus, potez kreira i viška checker na 7.polju koji može biti koristan za zatvaranje 5. ili nekog drugog unutarnjeg polja. Crni treba počistiti svoja 2 blota slijedeće bacanje, pa je bolje ne pružiti mu dodatnu šansu ostavljanjem blota na 13.polju.

He is not in danger there because black has only 8 checkers into attack zone. 13/7 leaves no outfield blots in situation when opponent has 3:1 stronger board and when white doesn't like hits exchange. As a bonus this move creates new spare which can be useful to make 5pt or some other inner point. Next roll black has to clean his outfield blots so it is better for white to not give him a more good rolls with that midpoint blot.
